Archdiocese of Philadelphia Pastoral Council site

Not a bad mini-site, though a little theoretical in style. One piece of advice, don?t make the pastor the chair as they do in Philadelphia ? it means he will dominate the council and meeting far too much.

Columbia Books parish ministry publications

Some of the best Irish books on parish ministry, which should be among those available in the parish to pass around for the education of pastoral council members.

Diocese of Greenburg Parish Pastoral Council site

Contains some good sections, especially the history of PPCs and the section of their seven elements of parish life for the evangelising parish.

Parish Pastoral Council Articles

Mark Fischer?s is at first glance the most impressive site on the web for Parish Pastoral Councils. Though he has become more realistic in recent times, Mark tends to concentrate too much on how to be a council and not nearly enough on how the Council works to have an evangelising parish. Still you must have a read as there is lots of wisdom and experience there.

Envision Parish Planning Service of the Paulists

This gives an outline of how to do parish planning. A key to understanding good planning is in the three key principles, to be mission-focussed, Christ-Centred and results-oriented. They are all crucial and the third is unusual for most Catholic groups, but is the difference between success and failure.
