10. Credit Cards And Direct Debits

You can quickly increase the income to your parish by concentrating on regular income through automatic regular donations through credit cards or direct debits.

Parishes which have a well established automatic program can expect up to 80 per cent of their income to be sourced from these donations.

Why? Because very few givers who donate through weekly envelopes acutally contribute 100% of their annual pledge, while almost all automatic donors will do so. Many donors will even continue to contribute after they leave the parish.

Every year you should, as part of your giving program, ask all parishioners to consider giving by credit card or direct debit and provide the necessary form.

At a practical level, your Catholic Development Fund can assist you at a practical level with the best means of implementing the actual debiting of parishioners' accounts.
